Professional Experience & Accomplishments

Microsoft (CSG Program Manager III 08/08-04/09) Branded Entertainment & Experience Team at MSN. Developed functional specifications for customer-sponsored websites and served as scrum master during development sprints. Managed projects split between teams located in Shanghai and Seattle. Worked with branded sales managers, producers, site designers, and editorial teams to guide development and deployment of MSN websites for on time delivery. As scrum master, I regularly met with all stakeholders, followed the progress, and removed/resolved obstacles for project success. Delivered high-traffic sites that included streaming video, customer feedback forums, Flash animations, click tracking, and phased releases. Sites generally under contracts for 1M+ unique visitors per month from MSN.

Microsoft (CSG Program Manager II 02/07-02/08)Tools Team in Secure Engineering & Communications division. Wrote feature specifications and other documentation related to internal development projects. Coordinated development efforts of internal developers and worked with outside vendors on completion of deliverable code to Microsoft.

Microsoft (CSG Program Manager II 08/05-06/06)Provided content management for MSDN Coding4Fun Developer Center. Served as technical and content reviewer for multiple vendor-provided presentations and sample programs in C#, VB, and ASP.NET. Wrote original content for MSDN website on C# and ASP.NET programming. Delivered 4 web-cast presentations.

Getty Images (Contract Program Manager – 04/05-08/05) Developed detailed project requirements for transitioning two legacy systems from acquisitions to comply with the company's current technology goals and meet SOX compliance.

Orrtax Software (Applications Development Manager – 10/02-06/04) Managed commercial product and data center development teams working in Washington and Texas. Transitioned data center from 4 separate Novell and Btrieve systems to using one system of Windows 2003 and MS SQL Server 2000 databases. Successfully moved commercial product, Intellitax for DOS, to Windows console application, thereby preserving a product used by 20K+ customers and representing 94% of company’s revenue. Successfully managed development of new Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) data center applications in J2EE providing Business-to-Business (B2B) data services between Orrtax customers and lending banks.

Jackson Hewitt (Lead Technical Specialist – 09/93-02/02) Started as staff programmer for 4 years, and continued coding and code review projects while in management. Cut defect report rate in software releases by 40% in first year as a program manager. Prepared 4 capital project RFP’s for deals totaling $35M+, conducted vendor interviews & selections, directly participated in outsourcing contract negotiations. Lead advisor on development of 5-year corporate Strategic Technology Plan and a Disaster Recovery & Contingency Plan, aligned with the new strategy.
